What is a Stepladder?
A stepladder final is a progressive match play format where:
- Top qualifiers are seeded based on qualifying scores
- Lower seeds bowl first, winners advance up the "ladder"
- The #1 seed waits to face the final challenger
- Winner of the final match wins the tournament
Stepladder Formats
4-Person Stepladder
- Match 1: #4 seed vs #3 seed
- Match 2: Winner vs #2 seed
- Match 3 (Final): Winner vs #1 seed
5-Person Stepladder
- Match 1: #5 seed vs #4 seed
- Match 2: Winner vs #3 seed
- Match 3: Winner vs #2 seed
- Match 4 (Final): Winner vs #1 seed
Configuration
- Enable stepladder in tournament setup
- Select number of finalists (4, 5, or 6)
- Configure tiebreaker rules
- Set match format (1 game, best of 3, etc.)
Running the Stepladder
- After qualifying, system seeds finalists automatically
- Enter match scores as they're bowled
- Winners advance automatically
- Final standings update in real-time
